The Balanced Internationalization Act (WIB)
The new Balanced Internationalization Act (Wet internationalisering in balans, WIB), currently being prepared following a proposal introduced in May of this year, considers to regulate the number of international students at Dutch public universities and promote the use of Dutch as a teaching language. The bill might raise concerns for international students about their opportunities to study in the Netherlands. Nyenrode Business University remains unaffected by potential government-imposed limits outlined in the WIB. As a private university, Nyenrode is not bound by the proposed restrictions. This means no caps on the number of students we can accept, whether they’re from the EEA or beyond.
